Callum goes for GOLD!! - JKAE Kyu Grade National Championships 2008
Congratulations to Callum Lepley for winning GOLD for KUMITE at the JKAE Kyu Grade National Championships. Callum was quite apprehensive at first - but proved to be the best in this very popular category. Well done!
Course & Kyu Grading November 2008
Colchester JKA Karate Club's Kyu Grading took place on 20th November Sensei Adel Ismail (JKA 5th Dan) took an advanced and a general class of over 50 members through their paces, concentrating on basic techniques and kata including Jion. Grading Success
Training and Kyu Grading June 2008
It was Colchester JKA Karate Club's third Kyu Grading which was held on 16th June. Sensei Adel Ismail (JKA 5th Dan) took an advanced and a general class of 40 plus members through their paces, concentrating on basic techniques, kumite and kata including Kanku-Dai. JKA Spring 08 International Course
The JKA Spring '08 Karate Course was held in Guildford from Friday 2nd through to Monday 5th May. The special guest instructors this year were Osaka Sensei (8th Dan), Omura Sensei (7th Dan), Ohta Sensei (6th Dan) and multiple time world Kata champion and the first female instructor to attend our course, Nakata Sensei (4th Dan). The attendees were split into four groups and the instructors rotated each day so that all could benefit from their expertise.
