Child Protection Policy

Working for a safe environment

All members are required to complete a form giving details of their address, phone number, date of birth, any medical conditions or injuries and parent/ guardian's consent to join the club.

At the club, there will always be an instructor present that holds a CRB Enhanced Certificate. Lessons will not usually be taken by anyone who does not have this screening.

We strive to ensure that all children and vulnerable persons can enjoy Karate in a safe environment, and parents can be confident of their child's safety.

We encourage parents to watch (or train!). If you are leaving your child at the club, please come into the dojo to collect your child afterwards.

All our instructors have:-

  • Full Indemnity Insurance
  • Criminal Records Bureau Screening Certificate (to enhanced Disclosure) if teaching children
  • Holding or undertaking an Instructor Qualification

The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Enhanced Certificate is only issued after in-depth research by the official agency via Police criminal records and other sources into the background of an applicant.

All checks are carried out to Enhanced Level to accord with Child Protection.

Our instructors have an EKGB Instructor qualification, and have attended child protection courses:
